Broadcom introduces VMware Tanzu Platform 10. New features in Tanzu 10 provide improved governance, efficiency and security for the development and deployment of AI-powered applications.
Broadcom introduced the latest version of the VMware Tanzu platform during VMware Explore 2024. VMware Tanzu Platform 10 helps customers develop and manage cloud-native applications faster and more efficiently. The tenth version of the platform is designed to improve operational efficiency and reduce complexity for development teams. To achieve this, Broadcom relies on improved automation and integrated AI solutions.
In addition to Tanzu 10, Broadcom is introducing Tanzu AI Solutions, which enables enterprises to easily develop secure and scalable AI-powered applications.
Faster and safer
Tanzu 10 builds on Cloud Foundry’s approach to accelerating application delivery. Developers and platform engineers can use standardized practices to bring applications into production faster.
The platform automates a number of tasks, including securing container builds, connecting services to applications, and running code with a single command. Additionally, Tanzu 10 supports seamless vulnerability patching, rolling upgrades, and frictionless policy enforcement through AI-driven insights.
By introducing a central control panel, Tanzu Platform 10 improves automation and visibility across all application environments.
Tanzu 10 also delivers a Cloud Foundry-like developer experience for Kubernetes with application spaces that introduce an application-centric abstraction layer. This allows developers to focus on their applications without worrying about infrastructure details, while platform and operations teams can manage infrastructure at scale and define configurations that meet organizational governance and compliance requirements.
AI
The new Tanzu AI Solutions enable developers to build production-ready GenAI applications. These solutions provide tools to develop, manage, and optimize AI-powered applications at scale and support GenAI observability and monitoring to improve accuracy and performance.
Not surprisingly, the platform supports the VMware Private AI Foundation with Nvidia, allowing enterprises to easily deploy and manage AI models and applications. VMware began integrating more AI capabilities into Tanzu last year.
Finally, Tanzu Platform 10 is seamlessly integrated with VMware Cloud Foundation, of which Broadcom just announced version 9. Tanzu and containers remain an important aspect of VMware’s offering, even now that Broadcom is at the forefront.
