AVM relies on WiFi 7 with new routers

AVM is launching several new Fritz products, including repeaters for Wifi 7 and a 5G router. In addition, a major update is being carried out Fritz!OS announced.

At the IFA technology trade fair in Berlin, AVM is presenting new Fritz!Repeaters that support WiFi 7 for the first time. The Fritz!Repeaters 2400 W7 and 1200 W7 are designed to provide better WiFi coverage in houses with multiple floors or thick walls. AVM is also expanding its mesh WiFi range with new sets for WiFi 6. These are the Fritz!Mesh Set 3000 Wifi 6 and the Fritz!Mesh Set 1200 Wifi 6.

With the introduction of the Fritz!Box 5690, AVM is expanding its fiber optic offering and is compatible with the latest WiFi 7 standard.

Fritz!OS 8 and 5G connections

AVM also announces the release of Fritz!OS 8 with more than sixty new features. The update offers an improved overview of the home network, easier installation and new options for users connected to a fiber optic network. In addition, Fritz!OS 8 supports the WireGuard VPN connection including IPv6 data transmission.

AVM is launching the FRITZ!Box 6860 5G for users of 5G networks. This device supports both 5G and LTE and offers data speeds of up to 1.3 Gbit/s, both indoors and outdoors.

Intelligent energy management

Finally, AVM is introducing the new Fritz!Smart Energy 250. This sensor helps users monitor and optimize their energy consumption. The name Fritz!DECT will disappear and smart products such as thermostats and lighting systems will in future be known under the name FRITZ!Smart.

AVM’s new products will be available later this year, depending on the market. AVM will provide information on Belgian availability at a later date.
