Google’s AI conversation partner Gemini Live is now available for free for Android users. iOS users will have to wait a little longer.
Google introduced Gemini Live as its new virtual AI conversation partner in May 2024. It will allow you to simulate job interviews or conduct brainstorming sessions, for example. Until now, this feature was part of the Google One Premium AI subscription. Now the company announces that it is making Gemini Live available to all Android users for free. It is not yet clear when this will also be available for iOS devices.
With Gemini Live, Google has tried to create a conversation partner that is as natural as possible. The AI bot can have conversations or brainstorming sessions with you. In addition, the AI bot can predict when you suddenly change the subject during the conversation or are stuck for words.
Previously, anyone who wanted to use Gemini Live had to have a Google One Premium AI subscription. This gives users access to Gemini Advanced, where the Live feature is available. Now, the company has announced via a message on X that Gemini Live is now available for free for Android users. iOS users will have to wait a little longer.
Gemini Live is currently only available in English (US). Google says more languages will be added in due course.
