According to reports, a database allegedly containing data from ten thousand Dell employees has been leaked onto the dark web. Dell is investigating the incident.
A database with alleged data from Dell employees has appeared on the hacker forum BreachForums. The “vendor” claims to have stolen data from ten thousand company employees. This includes names, internal identification details and whether the employees are still active at Dell.
Only a limited part of the database is openly visible. Interested parties only have to pay a token worth around thirty cents on the forum to receive the entire database. Dell confirmed to Bleeping Computer that it is aware of the existence of the database and is investigating the incident.
In May, a database containing Deel customer data appeared on the dark web. This included names, addresses and information on purchased devices of 49 million customers. It is unclear whether there is a connection to this database.
The hacker behind the database also claims to have obtained data from the French IT company Capgemini, including source code and login information. The database would contain 20 GB of data.
