Former American President and Republican candidate to the White House, Donald Trumpstated that his main rival, Vice President and Democratic candidate Kamala Harriswas born “mentally disabled.”
President”Joe Biden is mentally retarded. “Kamala was born this way,” Trump said during a campaign event in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. “He was born this way,” he insisted to laughter from the audience, according to the American press.

“Trump defends the false ableist belief that if a person has a disability, they are less human and less deserving of dignity. “AAPD continues to ask leaders of both parties in the 2024 elections to condemn the use of ableist language like those used by Trump,” he urged.
Towne recalled that several presidents and former presidents lived or are living with disabilities, such as Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who suffered from polio and was forced to use a wheelchair; John F. Kennedy with Addison’s diseaseulcerative colitis and chronic pain; Ronald Reagan and his hearing disability, or President Biden himself, who stutters.
“The mere presence or absence of a disability is not in itself sufficient to determine a person’s suitability for elected office,” he stressed.
