The choice of Fntastic as a name is undoubtedly an achievement of the studio that created The Day Before. Although considering the facts it would have been even better if they had gone for Fntasy because the story they are giving us is really pure fantasy. And also a complete and unjustifiable shame, of course, so much so that, most likely, ordinary mortals would not even dare to go out into the street after their first “stumble”. However, they decided not only to do it, but also to announce it.

If you don’t know what I’m talking about Fntastic is the studio that tried to fool half the world with The Day Before. And I say they tried, not that they succeeded, because luckily the players who bought it got their money back before their servers went down. And the thing is, what was intended to be an incredible game when they showed their first trailer ended up being a coward made up of unreal assets, what I said before, fantasy and shame.

Fortunately, yes, we thought this schism had ended the study forever, but a few days ago we found a surprise that it wasn’t, that Fntastic is back, and that he’s also resorted to a crowdfunding campaign for a new game. Of course, as a sign of repentance and goodwill, they apologized for what happened before, acknowledged their mistakes, said they wouldn’t do it again, and even released a demo of the game they’re asking for funding for.

The problem is, as we read in this tweet, Fntastic has done it again, once again creating an asset based gamealso free, despite this they have set a funding goal of almost €14,000. And that’s not all, they also delete comments from their Steam community, from users who report this situation. Of course, they normally don’t like being known to have resorted to this type of material again.

However, once it was published, they did publish a report confirming that they can legally use all of this propertyeither because they are free or because they went through checkout to buy them. That’s fine because at least they’re implicitly admitting they were employed, something they denied with The Day Before until they couldn’t do it anymore.

And why are they deleting comments on Steam? Simple, as I already hinted, Fntastic aims to raise almost 14,000 euros on Kickstarter, but at the moment they have barely passed 2,100. Which personally seems like a lot of money for who they are, but of course they won’t get there until they will not reach the campaign goal. And thankfully, that seems less and less likely.
