The MacBook Pro M4 notebook will be the star of the new equipment that Apple plans to launch as a fall introduction. Already a typical catalog update period, repeated in recent years after the arrival of its new generation of iPhone smartphones.

In addition to the laptop, Apple is expected to launch a new Mac mini compact computer (Apple confirmed); the new iMac all-in-one computer and two electronic tablets, the iPad Mini and the 11th generation iPad. According to Bloomberg, the Cupertino company will introduce them all “at an event at the end of October”. And there’s more.

Is this MacBook Pro M4 real?

Apple specialist Mark Gurman posted a video on X from a Russian channel showing the unboxing of this alleged model. He says it “looks pretty legit”but apparently it’s not confirmed and it would be very rare for an Apple product (commercial or real) that wasn’t just a prototype to hit the media weeks in advance. The information provided confirms the specs that were previously worked on, including the alleged leaked spec sheet. The MacBook Pro M4 would repeat the basic design of the current M3 and would be launched two versions depending on screen size, 14 and 16 inches.

Of course, the big news will be the version SoC M4Apple’s latest and most advanced proprietary engine that promises a new leap in performance, efficiency and capabilities to accelerate artificial intelligence processes. Tests conducted on the Russian channel where the unboxing was published were published on Geekbench. Labeled as “Mac 16.1”, it achieved a single-core score of 3864 and a multi-core score of 15288. By comparison, the base model MacBook Pro M3 typically scores around 3000/11800. The difference in performance could be mainly due to the two additional CPU cores.

The laptop will have min 16 GB of RAM (double that of the M3) and a 512GB SSD for internal storage. In connectivity, an update to the latest Wi-Fi and Bluetooth standards is expected, an increase in Thunderbolt 4 ports up to three, HDMI output, SD memory card support and magnetic charging system, MagSafe.

Although it’s unclear if the leak is legitimate, Gurman assures that the announcement of this laptop and the rest of Apple’s new devices will happen this October. We will tell you.
