Red Dead Redemption is coming to PC this month

Years, many years of rumors about the hypothetical arrival of Red Dead Redemption on PC and finally today what many expected is confirmed. Following a leak we uncovered a few weeks ago that suggested a PC version of Rockstar Games’ iconic title, we now know that October 29, 2024 will be the day when Red Dead Redemption along with the Undead Nightmare expansion arrives on PCspecifically on Steam, Epic Games Store and Rockstar Store. This news marks the end of a decade of waiting.

Previous leaks, fueled by dataminers and community users, peaked a few weeks ago when files were discovered on digital distribution systems that pointed to the game’s imminent arrival on PC. Although nothing concrete or officially announced at the time, the information was convincing enough enough to leave little doubt about what was finally confirmed by today’s announcement.

On the positive side, Rockstar has not only released a basic adaptation of the 2010 classic for PC, it will arrive with a number of significant improvements, such as native 4K resolutionmonitor support ultrawide and super ultrawide, HDR10full keyboard and mouse support as well as performance-enhancing technologies such as NVIDIA DLSS 3.7 and AMD FSR 3.0. In addition, the game has been optimized to take advantage of current systems and ensure smooth performance. All of this was possible thanks to Rockstar’s collaboration with the Double Eleven studio.

The other good news, as I hinted at the beginning, is that Red Dead Redemption isn’t coming alone, It also includes the Undead Nightmare expansionwhich offers a completely different gaming experience where John Marston faces hordes of zombies in an apocalyptic Wild West

Now, of course, we find ourselves with two big doubts about this impending launch. On the one hand, we can’t be surprised at the priceand Rockstar was already aiming high in that sense with the pile of bugs that was the launch version of the GTA trilogy. And the latter is of course related to the size of the fiasco. Were they more careful this time? I’d like to think that what happened at that point would be a harsh but effective learning experience, although in this case it’s clear to me that even if a very, very competitive offer was made available to pre-purchase it, I wouldn’t jump at it pool in any way.
