Adobe unveiled an experimental prototype AI demo of Project Super Sonic at the annual MAX conference. This technology allows you to create background noises and sound effects based on prompts, object detection, and even your own voice.

Three different modes

Generating sound with AI announcements is nothing new, as many companies have been offering a similar service for some time. It is primarily the other two modes that differentiate Adobe from the competition. An object detection model allows users to click on an object in a video. This immediately creates a request to then create a corresponding sound effect. This way, different models are intelligently used in a workflow.

The third mode is based on speech tones. Users can imitate and upload the sound they need. Project Super Sonic will then automatically generate a suitable sound effect.

Many experimental features that Adobe shows will ultimately be integrated into Adobe’s Creative Suite. Although Super Sonic would be an ideal addition to Adobe Premiere, it’s not yet certain if it will ever be officially launched.

The developers of Super Sonic also worked on Adobe’s Firefly. This is a video generation tool that solves various video editing problems. The model can create perfect B-rolls with text-to-video, remove unwanted objects from a scene, and create smooth transitions.
