Google Chrome’s latest update fixes 17 security issues. So far they have not been used for attacks.
The new Google Chrome version 130.0.6723.58/59 for Windows and macOS, 130.0.6723.58 for Linux, has significantly fewer security problems. The update eliminates 17 vulnerabilities that, according to Google, have not yet been exploited for attacks, PCWorld knows. So a quick update is the message.
Version 130: What does it mean?
As always, Google does not communicate what these vulnerabilities actually mean in its Google blog. They only communicate that one is considered high risk and the rest are considered medium or low risk.
A new feature in Chrome 130 is Password Manager, which allows you to use passwords across devices and smartphones. The integrated safety control is equipped with new functions. The browser now also features real-time AI protection against phishing and malware. To do this, you need to enable the “Enhanced Safe Browsing” option in Settings.
Manufacturers of other Chromium-based browsers are now asked to implement the update as quickly as possible. These are Brave, Microsoft Edge, Opera One and Vivaldi. At the time of writing, no browser has received this update. They are still at the security level from last week.
