Blade Runner 2049 Producers Sue Elon Musk and Tesla! (They used images without permission)

Tesla and Elon Musk are facing a copyright infringement lawsuit over their use of artificial intelligence during the Cybercab event.

Footage from the Blade Runner 2049 film was reportedly used without permission in Tesla’s “We, Robot” presentation on October 10. While Tesla’s new Cybercab and Robovan models were introduced at the event, the final version of the humanoid robot called Optimus was also on display.

During the event at the Warner Bros Discovery (WBD) studios in Hollywood, Alcon Entertainment, producer of Blade Runner 2049, announced Tesla’s customized movie scenes using generative artificial intelligence he claimed. The company stated in its lawsuit that Tesla and WBD requested permission to use the iconic photo just hours before the event, but the request was quickly denied.

Was the stage Elon Musk used at the event really stolen?

The Alcon team justified their decision because Elon Musk did not want to enter into any collaboration with Tesla due to his inconsistent behavior, which sometimes culminated in hate speech.

Following their rejection of the permission request, it is claimed that Tesla showed some scenes from the Blade Runner 2049 movie to the public during the “We, Robot” event through new footage created by processing it through artificial intelligence. The image remains on the screen for approximately 10 seconds. It is stated.

Alcon Entertainment emphasized in its lawsuit that it was not surprising that Musk referred to Blade Runner 2049 during the event, because autonomous vehicles with artificial intelligence play an important role in the film. While no statement has yet been made from Tesla or Musk regarding the lawsuit, it remains unclear how much compensation Alcon is seeking.
