The project is similar to the feature in Google’s NotebookLM, where the model can generate a podcast from text files. NotebookLlama is open source, meaning developers can get started with it.

Now Meta is quietly bringing an open version of Google’s NotebookLM onto the market, namely NotebookLlama. Similar to Google’s NotebookLM, users can use it to create podcast-like audio files.
On GitHub, developers can find the step-by-step plan to create a podcast from a PDF file. Currently Meta uses a model to write the podcast outline. According to the meta-researchers, the quality could be improved with stronger models.
