Windows Phone Link is a handy application for connecting your phone to your PC. This allows you to read text messages or view photos from your PC. Normally it’s easy to disconnect again, but the ability to remove your device via Settings has suddenly disappeared.
It is unclear whether this is a bug and whether Microsoft will offer a fix. The error was reported to Microsoft via the Windows Feedback Hub, but no response has yet been received. It may also be a conscious adjustment on Microsoft’s part, but we completely miss the added value of no longer being able to remove your device.
The error has little impact on the operation of Phone Link. It can be annoying if you once wanted to use Phone Link or if a connected device is no longer actively used.
If you want to remove a device, you can currently only do so by logging out of Phone Link. The next time you open the app, you will need to reconnect your device(s).
