A new transmission has appeared for models with a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine. While the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission is replaced by an eight-speed automatic transmission, the 1.6 engine still produces 180 hp. and a torque of 265 Nm. It will be available in both front- and all-wheel drive in South Korea, while in Australia it will be all-wheel drive.

New designs and new color options are available for 17 to 19 inch diameter rims. The cabin includes a 12.3-inch touch-screen infotainment system supported by Kia’s new generation CCNC operating system. It is located next to the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Projection screen is available.
The sat-nav features augmented reality and the adaptive cruise control can use navigation data to control the car’s speed. The Sportage supports over-the-air updates and also has a fingerprint authentication system.
Other tech features include Kia Digital Key 2, which lets you unlock and start the car using an iPhone, Apple Watch or Android-based smartphone; and Highway Driving Assist 2, which combines adaptive cruise control with lane keeping and can automatically adjust when changing lanes.
