On Monday, the Kremlin denied information that the Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President-elect Republican Donald Trumphad a telephone conversation on the war in Ukraine, after information on this matter published on Sunday by an American newspaper Washington Post.

“There was no conversation” This was stated by the official representative of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov, who said that “this is a very clear example of information that is sometimes published even in completely respected media.”

For this reason, he stressed that, according to the Russian news agency Interfax, “this is a complete lie” about Putin’s conversation with the tycoon. “This is pure fantasy. This is simply false information,” he emphasized.

Peskov’s words came the day after the above-mentioned newspaper published the said information, which reported that the case was connected to a source familiar with the situation. The same source reported that Trump warned Putin not to escalate the conflict and reminded him that the United States has an important military presence in Europe.
