Each manufacturer adds its own camera application to the phone, and this application often offers complex options that can waste time when shooting. And that’s exactly where Zerocam is headed; a new Android app Unleash the photography experience to the fullest. Just one button, no gimmicks. And a subscription to use it unlimited.
There aren’t many examples when it comes to universal camera apps on Android, most users We generally do not give up on the standard application. And that makes sense, as each manufacturer usually offers more than enough options to get the most out of the sensors. There is also Google Pixel’s GCam or modified camera, which is an excellent alternative. And Google Play now has Zerocam, but with a very different approach (wink, wink).
Zerocam is a minimal camera application. Along
Its name already shows that their goal is to make the shooting experience as easy as possible. And it’s like this: No Zerocam settings, camera selectors or configurations. Its interface is a viewer with yellow buttons. That’s it.
Zero artificiality, that’s the premise. In addition to minimizing the interface, Zerocam tries to render the image captured by the sensor without applying computational operations such as HDR. We installed this on a Google Pixel 9 Pro and the results were pretty good: shots look natural, with minimal processing encouraged by the application and with a pretty hefty JPG for the average mobile camera app. A sign that shows that the promises made are fulfilled.
Minimal Zerocam interface
It’s fine now. Is this absence of everything positive? It’s up to taste here, it will depend on what each person values. According to our experience, Zerocam can be a good secondary camera For cases that do not require complications. Outdoor shots with plenty of light, no moving objects or people, no need to take portraits. If taking photos is what you’re looking for and that’s all, the app is adequate and more than adequate.
Zerocam’s simplicity works in its favor and also against it: photos don’t stray too far from the default camera app, either.
We have already seen that the naturalness is remarkable, unfortunately it does not save the footage as RAW and unprocessed. It doesn’t do this on the iPhone either, but it’s there yes it allows you to change lensesSomething we haven’t seen on Android. They also share the cost: Although Zerocam is free to download, it only allows five free photos per day. To take more photos you have to pay 1.19 euros per month; This is a ridiculous price for an app that is hardly a miracle worker (on iPhone it costs 1.99 euros per month). If forever had a single cost, things would be different.

As evidence, it’s not bad, it doesn’t make much sense when it comes to changing the stock implementation. It’s available on Android via Google Play and, as we said, offers five shots a day for free.
