KONYA (IGFA) – The Youth Council, which operates under the umbrella of the Konya Metropolitan Municipality, continues to organize events that will inspire young people under the “Youth is the Issue” programs.

Hakkı Alkan, the founder of ShiftDelete.Net, one of Turkey’s leading technology platforms, met with university students in Konya within the framework of the ‘Mesele Youth’ programs organized by the Metropolitan Youth Council. Alkan spoke during the program at the Selçuklu Congress Center on the theme “Opportunities of the Digital Age” and moderated by presenter Cansu Canan Özgen. He spoke about his career and shared his inspiring experiences with young people.

Alkan stated that he had the opportunity to visit the Konya Science Center and really liked the work carried out there, saying: “I was very moved at the Science Center. Friends from 3 to 4 to 5 years old come here to assemble circuits and learn to code. I thought about myself. When did my first love affair with computers begin? When I was in high school in the Yerköy district of Yozgat, there was one computer in a government facility in the entire district. I said, “Can I take a closer look at this device?” They said, ‘No, you’re destroying it, look from outside the window.’ “We looked right out the window,” he said. University students who showed great interest in the program also had the opportunity to meet Alkan one-on-one and benefit from his knowledge.
