After twenty-two years of development, it arrives FreeCAD 1.0the first round version of “your 3D parametric modeler”, the alternative of many – open source and cross-platform, available for Linux, Mac and Windows – to the veteran AutoCAD, the benchmark for industrial design software in its own segment, CAD or Computer Aided Design (i.e. computer-aided design).

Does this mean that we are facing the first stable version of the application? “In software development, version 1 usually means: our software is now stable and ready for ‘real work’.
