Google Tasks has been integrated into Google Calendar for some time, but the integration hasn’t achieved much. It was nothing more than creating and viewing your tasks. Now Google has introduced an improved integration that allows you to view and manage your tasks in full screen mode with a single click. The interface is very similar to the separate Google Tasks app. Google Calendar version 2024.46.1 is rolling out widely to Android devices via the Play Store. It is not yet known whether Google will bring this improved experience to iOS.

Google is adding improvements to Google Tasks in Google Calendar. The Google Tasks icon appears at the top of your Google Calendar app next to the account icon. Clicking on it will display the full task window. From here you can view and manage all your tasks. This experience is similar to the separate Tasks app.
Within Google Tasks, you can then create and manage a new task, or add a list under which you can group different tasks. Your completed tasks will then remain visible under “done”.
If you switch your Google account in Tasks, this also happens automatically for your Google Calendar. Additionally, there is no indication that the separate Tasks app will disappear. This latest version of Google Calendar is rolling out to Android devices. It is not yet clear whether it will also come to iOS.
