An app has been released to watch YouTube on Apple Watch

A free WatchTube program has been released to watch YouTube content on the Apple Watch smartwatch, and you don’t need an iPhone to set it up. Users can download WatchTube directly from the watchOS app store. The program has four sections: “Home”, “Search”, “Library” and “Settings”. As with the official YouTube program, popular videos are displayed on the main page. The program also allows you to select specific video categories to be displayed on the homepage.

WatchTube’s built-in search feature works with the keyboard. Of course, users can also use dictation to search for videos in the program. As with real YouTube, WatchTube searches yield the best results for videos and channels.

In WatchTube, users can subscribe to streams and save videos to find them in the library tab. More importantly, users cannot connect to a YouTube account. However, the program provides a QR code that allows users to share and access certain videos on any other device, including iPhone or iPad.

In addition to these features, WatchTube also supports video subtitles and even supports resizing text. Videos can be downloaded to Apple Watch quickly. If users don’t have AirPods or Bluetooth headphones, they can also use the Apple Watch’s built-in speakers for audio output.

WatchTube developers say the upcoming update will add an “audio only” mode so users can listen to YouTube songs in the background without leaving the Apple Watch screen on. WatchTube is available for free from the App Store and supports Apple Watch running watchOS 6 or later. Source
