I test dozens of phones a year, and to be honest, I’m pretty bored with the current interface of most of them. Everything is the same: iOS, HyperOS, ColorOS… only some very pampered tiers like Android Stock and Nothing manage to hold my attention.
Since it has been possible to change the launcher while preserving the gesture system on Android for some time now, I started looking for free alternatives in the Play Store to make a radical change to the phone.
The alternative I chose is Launcher 10, an app that has been on the Play Store for several years and has been downloaded over a million times with a 4-star rating. It is completely free and contains almost no ads.
In my case, I installed it on a Google Pixel 9 Pro and the performance is pretty good with no crashes, lags or weird stuff. It’s important to clarify this since the few reviews I’ve read about the launcher are about performance.
As the name suggests, Launcher 10 is an application that tries to emulate the classic Windows tile look. It’s a completely different interface than what we’re used to on Android, and I especially loved it.
The app is very, very customizable. It allows us to arrange the tiles where we want, to the size we want, to the number of columns, to customize themes and even icons… It is a very easy-to-use application for any user who is not very skilled in personalization matters. and it’s surprising how well it integrates into the system.
If we want to add the cherry on top, we can download applications such as Zedge, which allows us to download Windows 10 ringtones and notification tones. Besides a good wallpaper, we will have the closest possible experience to the Microsoft operating system.
