According to a recent report, Xiaomi EV has started to form a team for the preparation of overseas sales. This team will operate under Xiaomi’s international division and is currently recruiting market research, project management experts and after-sales engineers specializing in electric vehicles. Additionally, Xiaomi EV’s intelligent driving division has added new positions to meet the compliance requirements for intelligent driving functions in foreign markets.

Xiaomi EV plans to start international sales through a series of market tests by selling a small number of vehicles in various regions. This preliminary phase will help the company better understand market dynamics and prepare for a large-scale launch. The business is mainly managed directly by Xiaomi’s international division, which currently has more than 100 sales points worldwide.

Xiaomi’s first model electric sedan SU7It was officially launched in China on March 28. With a starting price of 215,900 yuan (about $29,700), the SU7 reached a major milestone with sales of over 100,000 units by the end of the year. Xiaomi has already set a new target of 130,000 units by 2024.

Xiaomi also announced its second electric car model, the SUV YU7, which will be released in the middle of next year. Before the official launch of the SU7, Xiaomi made its debut on the international stage by presenting the sedan at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. In July, Xiaomi accelerated the SU7 in France for a special exhibition in Paris, underlining its goal of selling cars under the Xiaomi brand in Europe by 2030.

Xiaomi appears to be in an advantageous position to accelerate its entry into international markets. Xiaomi’s familiarity with foreign markets and extensive experience in international operations will provide a significant advantage. However, the company will have to face several challenges, including strengthening its vehicle segment.
