Details of the investigation

It is believed to be the possible body of a Cuban who was reported missing by a relative last year. The man traveled to Spain, where he was living in the remote municipality of Soria at the time of his disappearance. According to the media, when he went to another country, he wanted to find a woman he fell in love with. Later, he received suspicious messages from a relative’s number, which caused concern. This year, part of a dismembered body was found in a cemetery in the local village of Tahueco, Channel 24 reported, citing Gizmodo.

Investigators have arrested two people in connection with the man’s disappearance, police said in a statement. In the statement, it was stated that the most important evidence that helped the police find the suspects was “images in the location application” and that these images later “identified a vehicle that may have been used in the crime.” This app was apparently the Google Maps service.

In fact, a Google Street View car was driving by on a street in Tahueco as one of the suspects in the case was loading something into the trunk of a red car.

The identities of the two arrested people were previously determined. Among these the woman the deceased went to look for in Spainand an accomplice, with the media calling him a “partner.” Police described the duo as “alleged perpetrators of the crime of unlawful imprisonment under aggravating circumstances for failure to provide information regarding the whereabouts of a missing person.”
