Stefanishyna emphasized this in a comment for Interfax-Ukraine on the morning of December 20.

Stefanishyna also noted that she received information from the Head of the State Special Communications and Information Protection Agency about the lack of confirmation that personal data was leaked.

SBU comment

Also as stated N.V.Acting head of the cybersecurity department of the Ukrainian Security Service, Volodymyr Karastelov, said that investigations into the matter are currently ongoing.

We cannot yet confirm or deny information regarding a possible data leak.

According to him, upon completion of the analysis and collection of the necessary data, the SBU will provide all the information.

What to restore first

Stefanishyna stated that three main records damaged as a result of the cyber attack will be repaired as a priority:

  • State registration of actions regarding the civil status of citizens;
  • Unified state registration of legal entities and individual entrepreneurs;
  • State registry of rights to immovable property and their restrictions.

The minister noted that the priority restoration of these records will take approximately two weeks.

Cyber ​​attack on state registry

Let us remind you that on December 19, Ukraine was subjected to the most comprehensive cyber attack of recent times by Russia. As a result of the targeted attack, some important government records were temporarily suspended. This caused disruptions in the operation of electronic services and blocked access to a number of services.

The main purpose of the attack was to disrupt Ukraine’s critical infrastructure. Cybersecurity experts are working on gradual repair of records and promise to protect against similar intrusions in the future.
