Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) introduced a new tracked version of its modular Boxer armored vehicle. The Crawler Boxer weighs 45 tons. It is much heavier than its predecessor, the wheel version weighs 38.5 tons in the maximum configuration.

Boxer’s unprecedented modular concept includes a broad spectrum for specific tasks. The drive module contains a crawler chassis and an engine. Also known as platform or driver module.

The mission module contains mission-specific elements such as weapons, equipment, and crew. Mission modules are interchangeable capsule-like units fitted for driver modules, forming a full-fledged version of the vehicle. Mission modules are mounted at four points and can be replaced in the field within an hour.

Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) demonstrated at Eurosatory a new tracked version of the Boxer in the configuration of a 120 mm RCT120 remote turret fire support machine.
