NASA has described asteroid 2022 JE1 as “potentially dangerous” and will make its closest approach to Earth this Sunday at a distance of 3.29 million km, almost 9 times the distance between Earth and the Moon.
Its next anticipated approach to Earth will occur in five years on July 14, 2027.
NASA has designated the 2022 JE1 as “potentially dangerous” because it will come closer than 7.48 million km from Earth, he said.
