Designer Addy Visuals, known in narrow circles, showed a modern version of Windows 7 – what the system would look like if it was released in 2022. The concept maker created a mix of the original “Simka” and Windows 11, borrowing the familiar features of both operating systems.

For example, the Start menu and taskbar shortcuts are on the left instead of in the middle. The menu’s layout is the same as the original in Windows 7, but with a translucent overlay on the right and the window above the bottom panel.

The combination of Windows 7 and Windows 11 styles is evident in Explorer: new minimalistic icons are interwoven with recognizable back/forward arrow icons in a blue-blue gradient effect. The file manager also shows tabs that are not yet visible in the stable version of Windows 11.

The Addy Visuals concept wasn’t done without the well-known elements of Windows 11, including the quick settings side panel, quick search, and updated context menu – it’s been made virtually unchanged.
