The two new allies join the Metaverse causeand they do it by joining forces. They are Epic Games and LEGO, and since we don’t see their plans, which are long-term, materialize, from the beginning it looks like an interesting proposal that helps add points to a future initiative that Nothing is today. clear, as evidenced by the fact that Meta, Metavers’ main predecessor, postponed its development conference because it needed to advance its transformation project for Metavers.
At a time when we still do not know whether this initiative will have a future or not, both companies have decided not to wait and as we can see in the official statement, Epic Games and LEGO will join forces to create a space in Metaverse specifically for the little ones. The sentence they summarize in their long-term plans is «Shape the future of the metaverse to make it safe and fun for kids and families«.
His proposal is therefore based on the following three guidelines:
- Protect children’s right to play by prioritizing safety and well-being.
- Protect children’s privacy by putting their interests first.
- Provide children and adults with the tools to give them control over their digital experience.
That’s why I hinted at the beginning this collaboration between Epic Games and LEGO shows the right direction. And, of course, it will be necessary to check its development to make sure that it really meets these assumptions, which we will have to wait for, because the project and cooperation are focused on the medium term.

So much, actually the statement doesn’t tell us much about the plans for Epic Games and LEGO more specifically, it means that there is no data, no concepts and no progress. Only the announcement of the plan for the future and some ethical premises, which, if fulfilled, are quite reassuring.
What both companies have a lot of experience with is just that elements that in combination can make space in the Metaverse particularly suitable for the little ones, but also for families. Thanks to its experience with Fortnite, Epic Games can bring all the knowledge of the game space to multiple users, and LEGO would add its experience to games focused on this market segment, such as the recently released LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. That combination, a priori, I admit that I love her.
Epic Games and LEGO will have to face, yes, other opportunities, which certainly point in the same direction, and I especially think of Minecraft and Robloxtwo products that are particularly well-placed among this audience and for which the transition to Metaverse seems really simple.
