The government’s computer emergency response team in Ukraine, CERT-UA, operating under the auspices of the State Special Service, warns of receiving new dangerous emails with the subject “1275 №1275 from 07.04.2022”.
The letters contain an HTML file that, upon opening, will create an archive on the computer with a file titled “About the persecution and killing of prosecutors by the Russian army in the temporarily occupied territory”.lnk. Its discovery will allow hackers to gain full control over the computer and threaten to steal confidential information, damage data and computer systems.
This activity is associated with the activities of the UAC-0010 group (Armageddon), which has repeatedly carried out cyberattacks on both Ukrainian authorities and EU countries.
The CERT-UA team warns that team members are using the Dynamic DNS service NO-IP, among other things. Therefore, it is necessary to pay special attention to the connection with the domain names used by the service in question.
