Russia without 5G

However, this recommendation does not suit companies interested in the development of technology. As for equipment, the forecasts of experts are even more pessimistic. According to them, the lack of equipment cannot be overcome by parallel imports. At the same time, the regulator stipulates that the equipment must be domestic. According to MForum Analytics analyst Oleksiy Boyk, in February 2021, Rostec announced the creation of “the first domestic operator-grade LTE-Advanced base station.” However, only some elements are really developed there, there is no mass production, and foreign components are used in the design. There is also the question of price.

Finally – software need, new base stations, infrastructure and another. All this cannot be achieved through parallel imports.
