MINISFORUM UM580 is the latest model presented by one of the companies that has the largest offer in the field of compact computers. It is part of the “Venus” series, and as an improved version of the UM560, it stands out with its processor AMD Ryzen 7 5800H and the Radeon graphics it contains.

Sales of typical tower desktops continue to decline compared to increases in notebooks and convertibles. And so there is very little news. MINISFORUM UM580: for every terrain

The manufacturer says it is a multi-purpose mini PC designed for use in a variety of solutions such as gaming, home office, media center/HTPC, printer management, digital signage or mass-deployed enterprise IT solutions.

The MINISFORUM UM580 chassis is very similar to others from the same manufacturer with dimensions 12.8 x 12.66 x 4.65 cm. It can contain up to 64 GB of RAM, dual-channel DDR4. For storage, it features a PCIe slot for mounting an M.2 2280 SSD and a SATA bay for mounting 2.5-inch hard drives or SSDs for expansion.

Your engine is a AMD Ryzen 7 5800H which you will know because it has been used a lot in gaming laptops. It has 8 cores and 16 native processing threads with a base frequency of 3.2 GHz, which can be increased up to 4.4 GHz, has 16 MB L3 cache and a TDP of 35 W.

This new APU with Radeon graphics from the ‘Cezanne’ series represented a significant jump in performance compared to the previous model (over 18% in single core and multithreading), in addition to having a more modern Zen3 architecture and a better manufacturing process. It’s a mobile model, yes, but it should work very well on this mini-PC.

The MINISFORUM UM580 will be available in August in several configurations, including barebones where the user contributes memory, storage and operating system:

• Barebones: $439.
• 8GB + 256GB RAM and storage configuration: $499.
• 16GB + 256GB RAM and storage configuration: $519.
• 16GB + 512GB RAM and storage configuration: $549.
• 32GB + 512GB RAM and storage configuration: $599.
