The Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus G is a new SSD that, in addition to its high performance and capacity, is advertised as ideal for using Microsoft’s DirectStorage feature.
Microsoft introduced this technology in the last generation of Xbox consoles and promised to bring it to PC as well. A little later than it was announced, he introduced it in Windows 11 by providing an API to developers. Basically, the DirectStorage API on desktops allows you to shift workloads from the CPU to the GPU by processing data that comes from storage drives.

When using a dedicated graphics card for this task, the data from the SSD (or HDD) goes to the system RAM and from there directly to the VRAM of the graphics card, increasing the performance of the read operations of the storage unit. The goal is known: to increase bandwidth and speed up loading times in games.

DirectStorage can work on any storage device, but it will show its advantages mainly in the fastest SSDs, PCIe 4.0 like the one we present to you from Sabrent, or in others that arrive under PCI-Express Gen5.

The unit mounts TLC three-layer NAND flash memory and a self-made controller to achieve this 7000 MB per second when transferring data in sequential read/write modes. The manufacturer offers an optional cooler and a five-year warranty on these units.

Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus G is sold in three storage capacities with the following official prices:
- 1TB – $169.99.
- 2TB – 299.99 dollars.
- 4TB – 699.99 dollars.
- * Cooler – 29.99 dollars
