One of the new messaging features will allow users to leave a group chat without notifying the entire group. Chat admins will continue to receive notifications, but not all other members of the group chat. This can be especially useful for large group chats, such as those with an event theme, or hyperactive chats that no longer seem interesting.
WhatsApp will also soon allow users to hide their active online status from certain contacts and if you enable this feature, the app will not show selected contacts when you are available in the app. Messenger currently shows when you’re online to anyone who can view your profile in the app.
The third feature, currently being tested, prevents other users from taking screenshots of messages for one-time viewing.
It is stated that the new “wave” of WhatsApp functions presented is a month before the expected general release of Apple’s iOS 16 software.
As reported by Ukrinform, the Facebook social network owned by Meta Platforms has added a tab where users can only see posts from selected friends, groups and pages.
