It seems like something innovative could be invented for a computer desk, other than making it height adjustable. However, the Lumina initiative, known for developing the AI-powered webcam of the same name, appears to have been successful. The company announced a computer desk with programmable height, a built-in 24-inch OLED display and its own operating system. The screen may not look out of place here, but Lumina truly believes it improves user productivity.

Lumina Desk is equipped with an electric drive and a screen located between the monitor (laptop), keyboard and mouse. The table itself has a length of 1.5 m, its height ranges from 76 to 120 cm. The main idea is to use the space beneficially. For example, the screen can display current tasks, calendar entries, stock price, social network feed and much more. In other words, everything you need to always have on hand. Most importantly, this solution eliminates the need to use multiple monitors for this.

Lumina has decided not to make the screen touch-sensitive to prevent accidental pressing. Instead of touches and gestures, all manipulations are performed without the application. You can also not be afraid of splits and scratches – the table is covered with a layer of tempered anti-reflective glass with an oleophobic coating. The maximum brightness of the screen is 1200 nits and the refresh rate is 60 Hz. Wireless charging works on the entire surface of the desk, plus there are 6 regular power outlets and 6 USB-C ports located at the back in a hidden panel. Meanwhile, USB-C can output a total of 120W (up to 30W each individually).

Lumina Desk runs on Lumina OS, Users can download and install various apps like Google Calendar, Slack, Spotify and others. In addition, it is possible to set the time of raising and lowering the table.

Lumina Desk will only be available for purchase next year. Currently, the company has opened pre-order applications to assess the consumer’s interest in such a product. Its price is not yet known, but it is said that a computer desk with a screen will cost about $ 1000.
