Last month, Amazon announced that his service drone delivery will be available in some US regions such as California and Texas. This week, through a video posted on YouTube, the company showed how a model aircraft fresh air and how the package is prepared and delivered to the place.

In the content posted last Tuesday (09), the demo is very detailed. The package to be delivered is in the compartment built into the drone. When flying, the tech apparently reaches a low altitude (which the company doesn’t mention) and drops the package on the ground without landing.

This method does not use Walmart’s rope system or any Zipline fall protection, which uses a parachute to deliver packages smoothly. Despite this, it is unknown if this will be the standard shipping method for goods, especially those involving fragile contents such as glass and electronic devices. The video below appears to be experimental.

Fast deliveries

It is worth noting that the new product, which Amazon has been developing for many years, promises delivery in less than an hour to customers who subscribe to Basic. Prior to posting the video, the company said the plane would pick up the purchased item, fly to the intended delivery location, and descend to a safe height in the user’s backyard. This whole process will take less than an hour, and the seller claims that the drone will safely leave the package and return to the company.

The retail giant was recently unveiled at Dome of the White House about Advanced Air Mobilitywhere they discussed the public acceptance of drone delivery and other applications with other industry stakeholders.
