Intel spin effect and a blow to those who have dedicated themselves in recent weeks to considering the most ambitious project Intel has undertaken in years dead. And yes, we’ve been reading some theories here and there for weeks now… let’s say dubious, that purport to show that Intel has stopped the Intel Arc project and is even considering canceling it permanently. Something that, who knows, could possibly happen, but which is not at all justifiable by the arguments used to defend such theories.
It seems to be true the project had some problems that delayed the originally planned schedule for starters, but in assessing this situation we must not forget two important points. The first is that developing a GPU from scratch is very, very complex. A few weeks ago, our colleagues at MuyComputerPRO published the news about the launch of the Glenfly Arise GT-10C0 graphics card, a low-end graphics card 100% Chinese design and manufacture, an incredible 15 years have passed since it began to take shape. until it reaches the market.
Intel didn’t know where it was going? It is so absurd to think that it even hurts. Bugs and delays are a problem, of course, but it’s more than a stretch to think that Intel didn’t notice this possibility when the project started. With over 20 years of writing professionally, I know I still make mistakes at times, but that won’t stop me. And one of the most important technology companies in the history of the sector, however, will not be aware of the same reality that is for everyone? I think the conclusion is obvious and also that selling fatalism unfortunately works too well.

We’ve told you this over the past few weeks There are already several manufacturers that have announced desktop computers with Intel graphics cards. First it was ASUS and MSI, and just a week later ACER joined. Personally, I will say that it seems strange to imagine three manufacturers of this level announcing a device based on a solution that they have not tried and that could be canceled soon, don’t you think? I’m not saying it’s impossible, but it seems highly unlikely.
And if until now desktop computers have been “meeting” with Intel graphics, today we see another very interesting advance in this regard, namely that popular retailer Newegg has added the Intel Arc A380 graphics card to its catalog. And what’s even more interesting is that it’s not Intel’s graphics, but one of its partners in this adventure, ASRock. It is not yet available for purchase, but the seller has already enabled the possibility of reservation and as we can read on the website, expected release date is next August 22Monday of next week.

Card, so called ASRock Challenger Arc A380 ITX, it costs $139.99. As you can see in the pictures, it has a fan and these are its main specifications:
- PCIe 4.0
- Intel Arc A380 GPU
- Clock frequency: 2250 megahertz
- Six gigabytes of GDDR6 RAM memory at a speed of 15.5 Gb/s
- 1x HDMI 2.0b
- 3x DisplayPort 2.0
- 8-pin power connector
- 8K support (7680 x 4320 pixels)
So it is possible that the first of the expected Intel Arc Alchemist will reach international markets in less than a week. Obviously, we’ll have to wait for confirmation that this was the case, and that the Intel Arc has therefore left the Asian markets that Intel chose for its initial launch. It will be very interesting if this is confirmed, see what those who said it would never happen have to say.
