Cobra Kai Season 5 Trailer and Release Date

Try YouTube to become a Netflix-style self-production streaming platformIt was pretty short-lived. Although it began to take shape in 2016, it was only in 2018 that it began to gain some visibility, and at the beginning of 2020 we understand that after some results below expectations, Google decided to end YouTube Originals. And it is logical, it must be recognized that its content, with exceptions, never stood out.

As we said back then, the most notable case in this regard is Cobra Kaiseries that took on the Karate Kid film saga (those by Ralph Macchio and Noriyuki ‘Pat’ Morita, not the latest The Karate Kid, starring Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan), one of the greatest classic popcorn box movies of the 1980s and it did so much benefit to many gyms that overnight the number of potential students interested in martial arts grew exponentially (myself included on that list).

The announcement of the series was met with a mixture of surprise and skepticism.. Unfortunately, we’ve gotten used to seeing titles from that era being taken over/versioned/rebooted/etc in an attempt to capitalize on nostalgia. with disastrous results, so a priori the proposal was a bit scary. . A big mistake, because we are facing what could be the best audiovisual product of all the proposals that wanted to bring to the present the “classics” of childhood and the youth of us who were born between the sixties and the eighties.

At Netflix, they were very aware of this and when the opportunity arose, they took over the first two seasons and decided to give them continuitywith the premieres of the third and fourth in 2020 and 2021. It could not always be otherwise, ending each season and cliffhanger which leaves us fans waiting for a year to pass as quickly as possible to find out what happens next.

Is this also your case? Have you been waiting for the premiere of the fifth season since last year? Did Chozen’s appearance at the end of season four leave you with your nails in the wall or on the couch? Wondering what happens in the Valley when Terry Silver takes John Krees out of the way? And what happened to Miguel? What about Kreese in prison? And what did Tory Nichols see what she saw? In this case, in addition to the trailer so we can make a mouth, it’s good, very good news… though perhaps with a twist.

For the premieres of the third and fourth seasons, Netflix opted for the Christmas holiday, in both cases premiering the entire season on the same day. However, we won’t have to wait that long for the fifth season of Cobra Kai, just a little over three weeks in fact, because The fifth season of Cobra Kai will premiere on Friday, September 9. Yes, you read that right, just over eight months after the debut of the fourth.

Why do I say it might have a trick? Because Netflix, as we could verify from its latest numbers, needs to maintain the maximum possible number of users. And to that end, even if it goes against one of the hallmarks of the platform, we could find ourselves with a staggered season premiere. Either by releasing an episode every week or, as they did with Stranger Things, with two blocks and a few standalone episodes at the end. That’s just a theory for now, I hope I’m wrong.

In any case, it will be great that we don’t have to wait for them to give us grapes, literally, to return to a plot that, although somewhat naive, managed to tear down several generations.
