Alienware unveils two gaming monitors

Alienware (a subsidiary of Dell) has officially introduced to the world two new gaming monitors at once – we are talking about a basic model with a diagonal of 25 inches and a refresh rate of 360 Hz, and a more advanced version with a diagonal of 27 inches and a frequency of 280 Hz. It is worth mentioning that both monitors have the same design, but in different colors, look quite compact thanks to the relatively thin bezels around the screen, and come with a useful feature – a special stand-mount device for the headset. It is very convenient for the user to play with the peripherals and not know where to put them after the gaming session.

The youngest model in the series, in terms of design, does not scream that it is gaming equipment at all. The monitor body is made of matte black plastic with glossy Alienware logo and “25” lettering on the back panel. While this lettering is not illuminated, the old model with the “27” lettering on the reverse is illuminated. At the same time, the 25-inch monitor features an IPS display with Full HD resolution, Vesa AdaptiveSync certification, HDR10 support and 99% of the sRGB color palette. In the high-end panel, naturally, the feature set is much larger, so the user receives a number of different bonuses, especially for video games.

For example, the 27-inch monitor received DisplayHDR 600 certification and optional Creator Mode. When enabled, the user gets 95% of the DCI-P3 color palette and full coverage of the sRGB palette. This will be useful if the user decides to edit videos or manipulate photos with correct color rendering between gaming sessions. Unfortunately, there is an IPS matrix with a refresh rate of only 240 Hz (if you can call it that), as well as support for NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro technologies (on the younger model only AMD FreeSync Premium Professional).

Among the interesting features of the product, it is worth highlighting the presence of a USB Type-C port, which allows you to connect laptops to the monitor without additional adapters and power cables. Great news for those who are not just gaming, but working. However, the price of such a pleasure turned out to be quite high, which is not surprising. For the base 25-inch model, the manufacturer will charge $450 starting September 7, while the 27-inch monitor will cost a potential buyer $650.
