IFA 2022. Lenovo unveiled a slew of PCs, tablets, and peripherals at the German trade show to update a significant portion of its catalog, and the standout among them all is the spectacular ThinkPad X1 Fold 2022, which was the first new-generation folding computer to hit the market.
The new version of the notebook comes with significant changes and comfortably refreshed inside and out. For starters, it’s grown considerably, from the 13-inch of the previous generation to a whopping one Diagonal 16.3 inches.

The star of the device is of course the screen, thanks to a touch flexible OLED panel which now has a maximum resolution of 2024 x 2560 pixels and is twice as bright as the previous model, a brightness of 600 nits, which will facilitate its use outdoors. The panel is housed in a redesigned chassis, 25% thinner and with noticeably smaller bezels.
The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold 2022 has also been updated internally based on 12th generation Intel processors and the user will be able to choose between Core i9, i7 and i5 processors, all with Intel vPro features. The machine supports up to 32 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 1 Tbyte of storage using a PCIe 4 SSD.

Connectivity options have also increased in quantity and potential, starting with networking support 5G (optional), Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 and following through its two ports Thunderbolt 4 and USB Type-C. It is equipped with a 48Wh battery that supports 65W fast charging.
Lenovo will optionally sell a new Bluetooth keyboard with TrackPoint and a haptic touchpad and an AES-compatible stylus from Wacom to increase desktop productivity.

The ThinkPad X1 Fold 2022 will pre-install Windows 11 Pro and will be available in November 2022 at a starting price $2,499. The first and great reference in the field of folding notebooks is as spectacular as the original, bigger and updated to the latest.
