Ventura County residents were surprised when, in addition to the TV announcement, the sheriff’s department also posted an online warning in English and Spanish. Later, another report was published accusing colleagues in Los Angeles County of false reporting.
What happened?
A televised evacuation notice was inadvertently sent by Los Angeles County to some Ventura County residents. There is currently no threat to Ventura County and residents do not need to evacuate.

No one has explained exactly how this situation came about. Someone suggested it was “a training session”, others called the whole thing a “fat finger mistake” (meaning a finger pressing the wrong buttons), while others accidentally recall a similar case when they were in Hawaii in 2018. Nuclear warning declared.
I didn’t see one until this morning. Did Los Angeles County Say “Hold My Beer” to Hawaii?

Most likely, the case is about the wildfires that are currently raging in the Los Angeles area. The United States goes through a period of massive wildfires each year, and this year the country has been hit by a prolonged heatwave.
