The United States will continue to work to limit Russia’s access to high technologies and to track violations of the sanctions regime using technical means.

This was voiced by US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland during an online speech at the 17th meeting of the annual Yalta Europe Strategy, organized by the Viktor Pinchuk Foundation, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.

Nuland noted that limiting Russia’s access to high technologies is one of the important aspects of sanctions against Russia for its aggression in Ukraine. In this context, he reminded that not only Group of Seven countries and the EU, but also Singapore, Australia and other states participated in these sanctions.

At the same time, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs noted that sanctions in the field of high technologies will work not immediately, but in a certain perspective, but some of their consequences are already felt.

“Russians all over the world are trying to find what they need. We’ve heard stories of Putin and his army removing chips and parts from air conditioners and washing machines to put them in weapon systems. We’ll keep working hard. sanctionscapable of producing results that are very easy to follow with reliable monitoring tools,” said Nuland.

He also assured that the United States is working in this sense with countries that have not yet decided to join, to strengthen the sanctions regime against the Russian Federation.

As reported, the seventh EU sanctions package specifically against the Russian Federation, adopted at the end of July, expands the list of dual-purpose goods that can be used for the military-industrial complex and are subject to export restrictions.
