He learned about another “improvement” from the mass complaints that began to appear on the network. Users noticed the increase in ads and posted a few photos.
More, more, more ads
Users of free YouTube accounts are now reporting this instead of one or two pre-roll ads, the company shows up to five ads. It seems that for now, Google is testing this innovation and collecting feedback accordingly, which may influence the final decision: implement or cancel it for everyone. The company is unlikely to like the reaction.
“YouTube gave me 5 unskippable long ads”– writes a Twitter user who posted a photo of the screen.
The company decided to respond to one of the tweets. In it, a user nicknamed Mermaidvee wrote: Two ads weren’t enough on YouTube, so now you want to play 5 ads that nobody cares about and I can’t skip?”
“Since this only takes up to 6 seconds, this can happen with certain types of ads called bumper ads. If you prefer, you can submit feedback directly from YouTube using the feedback submission tool.” – replied to the company.
So you can understand that the maximum duration of all attachments is 30 seconds. And although YouTube has much longer ads, the main problem with it is that it’s impossible to skip it.
Currently not all free account users experience the five pre-roll ads, so it looks like YouTube is testing the response to the update.
What should I do
There are only two ways out of this situation:
- The first is to purchase a YouTube Premium subscription. It completely disables all advertisements on the service.
- The second is to install an ad blocker. There are many on the market today, including questionable ones. If you still decide to use this method to get rid of ads, we recommend choosing browser extensions with the best reviews, high ratings and lots of downloads. Avoid little-known programs – they may contain viruses or cryptocurrency miners.
