OUR NASA released on Tuesday, September 6, image Tarantula Nebula registered James Webb Space Telescope. Located about 160,000 light-years from Earth, the nebula is the most active stellar nursery in our Local Group of Galaxies. Full resolution image can be downloaded from this link.

NASA has identified lunar landing sites, but
will compete for one place with China

The Tarantula Nebula – a lair of stars

Curious name for this nebula comes from its resemblance to the burrows (or burrows) of tarantula spiders, also called caranguejeiras in some regions of Brazil – since I don’t know if the reader is afraid of spiders, I won’t include an image to illustrate the association. As seen in the picture Tarantula Nebulait has a dark area in the middle, surrounded by a layer of white clouds, that looks like a web-lined tarantula hole.

The Tarantula Nebula photographed by James Webb. Telescope images can be recognized by the eight rays of light coming from the stars.

The “hole” formed in the center of the nebula is the result of strong radiation and stellar wind emitted by a cluster of young stars called R136 (light blue to the right of center). This region contains some of the largest and hottest stars ever found. The area that forms the “web” surrounding the center nebula it is dense enough to resist erosion caused by the star cluster.

Image posted NASA understand “only” 340 light-years long Tarantula Nebula, and its total radius is over 900 light years. The recording was made by a near infrared camera (NIRCam). James Webb Space Telescope. This instrument was able to reveal new young stars that were previously hidden behind cosmic dust.

NASA cancels rocket launch to the Moon;
another try will be on monday

OUR Tarantula Nebula important for studying the formation of the universe because it nebula closest to the Earth with a chemical composition similar to the Universe in its early years, in addition to an accelerated rate of star formation.
