GoPro introduces its new HERO11 Black cameras

The most striking innovation of the HERO11 Black is a new 1/1.9″ sensor it can capture 10-bit color at up to 5.3K at 60fps or 4K at 120fps. The new sensor can handle an 8:7 aspect ratio, making it easier for users to crop 16:9 cinematic footage and 9:16 extra-tall vertical footage from the same video.

The new sensor also enables a digital lens call HyperView, which offers the widest 16:9 video available on a GoPro camera to date. The goal is to make footage of activities like mountain biking look even faster.

All cameras from the HERO11 Black family start the technology HyperSmooth 5.0 which promises greater video stability than the previous generation. It also features an in-camera horizon lock to keep footage stable even when the camera rotates a full 360 degrees while shooting. GoPro has included three new night time-lapse presets in its new cameras for capturing star trails or vehicle lights.

Make the Hero 11 Black Mini stand out by being different from its two older sisters. It offers the same performance as the HERO11 Black in a significantly smaller package and a simple one-button design. The “Mini” skips the video preview screens and adds additional mounting brackets to the back of the camera body.

All three versions in this series are compatible with GoPro’s subscription service, which includes unlimited cloud backup and a no-questions-asked replacement policy for $49.99 per year. The subscription offers automatic highlighting of videos created from images and videos uploaded to the GoPro Quik app on your mobile phone.
