Almost a year after the official presentation of GoPro Hero 10, company employees announced the flagship action cameras of the new generation – the GoPro Hero 11 and Hero 11 Mini models. It is worth noting right away that the GoPro Hero 11 body completely repeats the GoPro Hero 10, down to its dimensions and color, the difference is only in the inscription on the side. And the most interesting thing is that the Hero 11 Mini, which many may mistakenly perceive as a simplified version of the flagship camera, actually has exactly the same features and capabilities, but in a more compact form factor and lacks screens.
The 1/1.9 image sensor is now 27MP, it can also record video with a 10-bit color palette. As a result, the user can shoot videos in resolutions up to 5.3K at 60fps or 4K at 120fps – both options are good for action scenes, but 120 FPS definitely feels right. Company representatives also noted that the cameras were given a new shooting mode called FullFrame, which allows you to shoot content with an 8:7 aspect ratio. But of course there’s also HyperView mode, which uses the more traditional 16:9 aspect ratio. At the same time, the camera is waterproof and can be submerged in 10 meters of water.
In addition, Vehicle Lights, Star Trails, and Light Paint video recording modes have been announced, allowing you to capture better content in low-light conditions. But the real bonus is the company’s HyperSmooth stabilization system, which includes the AutoBoost function – the camera in auto mode can handle even quite strong vibration. And it is important to note that the GoPro Hero 11 in the basic configuration comes with an Enduro battery, which was used as an additional accessory for the action camera of the previous generation. Also in the box, the user will find a carrying case, adhesive buckles, a knurled screw fastening buckle, a 32GB Sandisk Extreme SD card and a USB Type-C cable.
The price of the GoPro Hero 11 Black starts at $ 500 – this is the price of the basic kit, but on the official website there are more than enough accessories for every taste and color. For example, you can get a custom helmet mount and camera holder for $550. The Hero 11 Mini starts at $399, but if the Hero 11 is already on sale, the Mini version will only hit the shelves on October 25.
