The US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) announced on Monday, September 26 that the planet Jupiter will approach the Earth from the minimum distance in the last 59 years.

As reported by Ukrinform, this was reported by Space.com.

According to NASA, on September 26, the gas giant will be about 590 million kilometers from Earth.

At its furthest point, Jupiter is about 960 million kilometers from Earth.

The last time Jupiter got this close to Earth, and the last time people could see it this big and bright in the sky, was in October 1963.

It is noted that while the Earth’s orbit of the Sun takes about 365 days, Jupiter has a longer orbit around the star, completing it every 4,333 Earth days or 12 Earth years.

As reported by Ukrinform, the space probe of the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Juno took a picture of the eddies near Jupiter’s north pole.
