With the launch of the iPhone 14, what had been an open secret was confirmed we understood why there were conflicting rumors about this topic. Apple increased the price of its new smartphones in most international markets, but kept it unchanged in the United States.
I have already explained to you on other occasions what were the main reasons which led to this increase in prices. On the one hand we have euro dollar paritywhich leads us to a direct recalculation of prices, which damages us, and on the other hand, we have a problem taxesAnd the point is that the iPhone 14 prices we saw in the United States are before taxes, while in Spain they are already with 21% VAT included.
The fact is that Apple has not only increased the price of the new iPhone this year, but is also preparing increasing the price of apps, games and micropayments made within the App Store, with the sole exception of automatic subscription renewals, which will remain unchanged. This rise is not general, that is, it will not happen all over the world, only in some very specific countries. Here’s a comprehensive compilation to make it clear whether you’re affected or not: Chile, Egypt, Japan, Malaysia, Pakistan, Poland, South Korea, Sweden, Vietnam and all countries in the Eurozone.

Apple said in an official statement that the price is increasing will reflect the new regulations for the company to collect and remit the relevant taxes, i.e. Value Added Tax, known as DPH in Spain and VAT in English, and Corporate Tax, also known as corporate tax or CIT in English.
The Apple company did not give reasons to justify this price increase, but it is clear where the finger of blame is pointed at the dollar. This parity between the dollar and the euro means that our currency is worth less today than it was a few months ago, and therefore we have lost purchasing power. This loss in the value of the euro is what motivated Apple to raise prices, all in order to maintain its profit margins.
Expected price increase of 20%, which means that an app that cost one euro will now cost 1.20 euro, and an app that cost 5 euro will now cost 6 euro. The price increase will take effect from 5th of Octoberso if you were planning to buy some relatively expensive app, it would be better to do it now.
