Wind-cut trees have damaged about 80 cars in Moscow

A strong wind with rain, which happened the night before in the capital, left many fallen trees and broken structures. The violence of the elements resulted in extensive damage to vehicles. Portal “AvtoVzglyad” provides details.

In Moscow on September 19 in the evening, a strong wind with gusts of up to 24 m/s caused about a hundred trees to fall.

“More than 75 cars sustained mechanical damage in various parts of the city,” an unnamed source in the capital’s emergency services told Interfax.

Note that due to the arrival of heavy rains and squalls in the capital, the penultimate, “orange” level of weather hazard was in effect in the capital last Monday night. In particular, it was reported that a temporary pedestrian crossing on Vasilisa Kozhina Street was blown away by the wind. A metal sheet construction, fastened with wooden planks, collapsed on parked cars, damaging seven cars. Keep in mind that their owners have a good chance of getting compensation from a construction company that has not guaranteed the stability of their structures.

The outlook for motorists whose cars have been damaged by fallen trees is much more bleak. It is extremely difficult to “battle” money for car repairs from the same state budget institution “Zhilischnik”, which is responsible for most of the green spaces in the courtyards of the capital, even by filing lawsuits. In addition, employees of the Zhilischnik district branches are trying to cut down and remove trees that have fallen on cars as soon as possible. This is to make it as difficult as possible or completely impossible for the injured car owner to prove in court the involvement of the management company in the incorrect maintenance of the green fund. It is this circumstance that, as a rule, causes the fall of trees in the city.
