Apparently, Apple wants to join the battle for fast charging. This is because, in tests with the iPhone 14 and its variations, it showed more power than its predecessors. Tests conducted by ChargerLAB and Chongdiantou with various Apple and third party power adapters.

Based on tests overall, using Lightning, the iPhone 14 scored 23W, while the Pro Max scored 27W. The values ​​are the same as the previous generation. However, the iPhone 14 Plus and 14 Pro have not yet been tested. In tests by Chongdiantou using Apple chargers on the iPhone 14 Pro Max, they peaked at 26.55W. Check it out in the chart below:

Out of curiosity, Chongdiantou managed to charge the iPhone 14 Pro Max up to almost 29W. This used an old 29W Apple charger designed for a 12-inch MacBook and discontinued in June 2018.

Apple no longer includes a charger with any iPhone. The company says that for all four iPhone 14 models, users can charge devices up to 50% in about 30 to 35 minutes with a compatible 20W or higher power adapter.

iPhone 14 changes make repairs easier

A video posted by the iFixit channel this week showed that the iPhone 14 is easier to take apart, making repairs easier. One of the major changes is the removable rear glass, which makes servicing new Apple devices easier than previous generations.

The channel shows that in order to gain access to the back of the device, it is necessary to use only a heating plate, a suction cup (to remove the glass without damaging it) and a lockpick to help open the iPhone. The change is significant, given that access to the rear was not the easiest.
