Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Ukraine has received about 20,000 Starlink devices. Of these, 5,000 are supported by the American Agency for International Development (USAID), and the other 5,000 by the Polish government.
Ukrinform was informed about this by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.
Thanks to the initiative of the digital transformation ministers of the EU countries, it was noted that another 5 thousand devices were purchased, the rest of them from private companies.
Today, Starlink is critical infrastructure that impacts the lives of thousands of people. Terminals help power companies, firefighters, rescue teams and hospitals stay in touch.
The ministry added that in addition to satellite communications, Elon Musk is helping Ukraine with Tesla Powerwall systems. These are powerful batteries that keep you in touch in the hottest spots despite a power outage. So far, the founder of the Tesla company has transferred about 50 such systems to Ukraine for free.
As reported, Elon Musk’s SpaceX has launched 54 more mini-satellites into orbit to replenish the orbital group of the Starlink global internet coverage network.
Starlink is a SpaceX project that provides broadband Internet access over a satellite network. The speed of this type of Internet is up to 1 Gbit/s per subscriber and you can use it anywhere in the world.
